What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a process of natural and drug-free care that is intended to create and promote wellness within the body. Wellness is the pursuit of the optimal expression of health.

Chiropractors assist in the pursuit of health primarily by locating, detecting and removing interference from the nervous system. "The nervous system controls and coordinates all organs and structures of the human body" (Grays Anatomy, 29 ed. page 4). The nervous system consists of the brain, spinal cord and nerves.

Nerve interference can create abnormal neurological patterns and thus, affect our overall quality of life. It can range from making us feel stiff, create migraine or tension headaches, to numbness and tingling down an arm or leg. There are many other examples of how nerve interference can present itself as a symptom. Often, these abnormal neurological patterns can present no immediate sign or symptom - similar to how a dental cavity begins.

Chiropractors are a vital component of your health care team.
